ALP is implemented as an Asynchronous Pluggable Protocol. It acts like a WEB server but without need of network. It executes WEB applications such as ASP pages and CGI applications. ALP makes Internet Explorer to be server and client. With ALP you can write stand-alone desktop applications, CD-ROM autoruns, use ASP for pure desktop software and still keep your code ready to run on WEB servers too.

Version 1.0 (build 22)

If you have used a beta build (with number less than 22) see the list of the problems found in the betas and fixed in the current build:

  • Parsing problem. Some files which end without <CR> were not processed correctly. This affected plain text files and ASP files without any HTML content (fixed).
  • Names for Constructors/Destructors of VBScript classes were incorrect in the earlier betas (fixed).
  • Syntax problem - Sub calls without brackets caused errors to be issued (fixed).
  • Syntax problem - Multiply usage of () brackets caused syntax errors - for example a(1)(2) where a is a collection containing collections (fixed).
  • Several VBScript built-in functions and operators were not included in the symbols file. Syntax errors and warnings were caused. Some of the most important: Me, MidB, InstrB and so on. (fixed)
  • Added feature - Use custom entry instead of Response.Write for ASP parsing.
  • Added feature - DbgTrace directive.
  • Added feature - file comments in the project.
  • Added feature - Run VB to perform make operation without showing GUI.
  • Various additions and less important fixes.
